Our Long History... Briefly
Westburgh Electric Inc. is the oldest electrical supply and motor repair facility in the area. It was founded in 1919 as Chautauqua Electric Motor Division of Niagara Mohawk. The name was changed in 1951 to Westburgh Electric. Roger Blixt, a lifelong employee and his son, Dave purchased the company in 1962. It has been operated by the Blixt family ever since. Roger retired in 1978 then Dave bought out his father and expanded the business into new motor sales as well. In 1998 Dave retired and two of his sons David Jr.--"Scrubby"--and Dan took over. Currently, Dan is President and Scrubby is VP. Scrubby focuses on motor repairs, while Dan heads the customer service and sales departments.
